SUPPORTING THE CAUSE

The NHL and NHLPA have teamed up since 1998 to promote awareness of and raise money for cancer research in an initiative called Hockey Fights Cancer. Sam Bennett and the Florida Panthers participate every season, and when Sam had a day with the Stanley Cup, he brought it to pediatric cancer patients near his Ontario home. “Sam brought kids in need at Southlake a lot of positive energy with the Stanley Cup,” said Alex Rozalowsky, one of the young patients. “Today was a good day. It brought a lot of smiles to their faces.”
