MAKING FAMILY HISTORY
Matthew Tkachuk had a performance to remember during the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs, and he was ready to repeat during the 2024 run. He led the Panthers with 14 assists and 22 points (tied with Aleksander Barkov) in the postseason, including three points in the Stanley Cup Final. The championship was especially sweet for Matthew: combined with his father, Keith, and brother, Brady, it took 2,391 NHL games for a Tkachuk to raise the Stanley Cup. “This is for my family,” Matthew said. “Finally, the Tkachuk name will be on the Cup. This is for them. It was a long time coming but this was for them.” In addition to honoring his family, Tkachuk enjoyed the most Florida celebration ever by taking the Cup for a swim in the Atlantic Ocean.
