LUONGO IS HOME SWEET HOME

Gianni Luongo joined his father (and Panthers goalie) Roberto on the ice for the U.S. and Canadian anthems before a home game against the Edmonton Oilers on November 8, 2018. The Luongo family has been a fixture of Parkland, Florida, for years, and when Luongo announced his retirement in June 2019 he let fans know that he planned to stay. In his retirement letter to fans, Luongo joked about the future before concluding, “For now though, I’m just another retiree in South Florida. I’ll be going to get my senior citizen’s card here pretty soon.”
