JAY’S FIRST STEP

At just 19 years old, Jay Bouwmeester made his first trip to All-Star weekend. The defenseman took the ice with the Eastern Conference YoungStars, contributing an assist in the team’s 8-3 victory over the West. Bouwmeester said it was an honor to be selected to the team, but called it a “first step” toward getting in the main All-Star Game. He didn’t need to worry; his time would come.
