The 2016 Eastern Conference First Round was a series of close games. Both teams battled, especially on defense. Up to this point in the series the Islanders defense had found a way to silence Panthers star Jonathan Huberdeau. But in Game 6, Huberdeau broke through and scored his first-ever playoff goal.
