These Panthers were hungry after a 12-year playoff drought. It was extra fitting that they would again face the New Jersey Devils, the team they faced the last time they made it to the Quarterfinals. Though in both meetings the Devils would end up winning the series, the Cats never made it easy, this time pushing the series to a maximum seven games.
