BO’S IN CONTROL

Jay Bouwmeester began his time at the 2007 All-Star Weekend with a heated battle. The young defenseman took on Columbus’s Rick Nash in the puck control relay, a 1-lap race where skaters have to keep control of the puck through a series of obstacles. Nash was the reigning champ of the relay, making him stiff competition. “It was a little nerve-wracking,” remarked Bouwmeester of having to face Nash. Nash ended up winning for the second straight time, but Bouwmeester said he still had fun.
