BOB’S CUP RUNNETH OVER
Date: June 13, 2024
The Edmonton Oilers were one of the best offensive teams of the 2023-2024 regular season, scoring an average of 3.56 goals per game. Fortunately for the Panthers, Sergei Bobrovsky was in the net. The veteran goaltender faced a series-high 35 shots in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final. Though he allowed three goals, the Cats offense responded with four of their own to give Florida the win. After the Oilers forced a Game 7, Bobrovsky clamped down with 23 saves on 24 shots to help win the series. It made sense when Bobrovsky became the first person to receive the Stanley Cup from captain Aleksander Barkov. “I think everyone knew it was going to go to him,” said Barkov. “He deserved it. He’s been incredible.”
