In 2018, the Florida Panthers Foundation awarded a $25,000 Community Champions grant to Miami Lighthouse for the Blind & Visually Impaired. The money funded the creation of a fifth mobile eye exam unit used in the organization’s Florida Heiken Children’s Vision Program, which provides underserved children in South Florida with free vision exams and eyewear. The Panthers-themed truck made its debut on May 23, 2019 at North Miami Elementary with Stanley C. Panther on board.
