A RARE GENTLEMAN

In 2012, Panthers defenseman Brian Campbell became the first Panther and the first blueliner since 1954 to win the Lady Byng Trophy. The award goes “to the player adjudged to have exhibited the best type of sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct combined with a high standard of playing ability.” Campbell had a team-high 49 assists during the 2011-12 season while only being assessed three minor penalties.
