A HELPING YAND

Everyone was smiling after Yands scored his 100th career goal in the first Panthers game of the 2020-2021 season. The defenseman isn’t afraid to take a shot when he sees an opportunity, but most of his points come from setting up his teammates. He averaged over 44 assists per season in his first four years in Florida. That impressive number is largely due to Yandle’s skilled passing, but the humble defenseman is quick to share credit. In 2019, he described his role on the Panthers as “the easiest job out there . . . It’s just about distributing it to those guys and letting them do their magic.”
