LUONGO THE GOAL SCORER?

Panthers legend and newly minted Hockey Hall of Famer Roberto Luongo received his official blazer in a pregame ceremony before the Hockey Hall of Fame’s Legends Classic in November 2022. During the game in Toronto, Luongo played forward and scored two goals as his Team Lindros defeated Team Sundin, 10-6. “I wanted to shoot, and then I didn’t see anything, and I just panicked,” Luongo said of one of his goals. “Then I held onto it, and all of a sudden, I had an empty net, so I tried to shoot it high.” One other highlight came when Luongo beat his former Vancouver Canucks teammate and fellow HHOF inductee Henrik Sedin on a faceoff draw. Former Cats player Bryan McCabe also participated in the event.
