THE SVEHLA SECRET’S OUT

Defenseman Robert Svehla was selected to the Eastern Conference’s reserve roster at the 1997 All-Star Game. When he got into the action, Svehla made the most of it, contributing two assists in less than 5 minutes. Teammate and fellow All-Star John Vanbiesbrouck described Svehla as “a secret” that could only be kept for so long. By the end of the 1997 All-Star Game, the secret was out.
