SOUTH FLORIDA MANATEES, 1993

Manatees flock to South Florida in the winter for the pockets of life-sustaining warm water. Imagine everyone’s surprise if they had also shown up in skates to play hockey! The South Florida Manatees did not make the cut, but several elements of this design — the palm trees, the sun, the endangered animal — were not so far off the mark.
